The Irish Software Developers Network

The Irish Software Developers Network began its life in the University of Limerick in 2001. John Brennan and Kieran Lynam, two Computer Science under-graduates, brought other students together to discuss 'real life' technology and business in Ireland. In those days we were known as the Digerati User group but were rebranded as IrishDev.com, the Irish Software Developers Network in 2003 as part of a major public relations campaign spear headed by Edelman PR on behalf of their client Microsoft Ireland. In 2005, IrishDev.com was acquired independently to build upon the work started by Fergal Breen whilst he worked at Edelman. Online we built the first technology only jobs portal in Ireland, began publishing lots of technology stories and worked to spread the highly skilled Irish software industry far and wide. 'Evangelist Evenings' for our members, promote the growing IrishDev.com community at events like ICT Expo and began to support third level computer science students with our involvement in events like the Education Show and Tipperary Institutes highly successful Robocode event, now known as Games Fleadh. Two thousand and seven saw IrishDev.com pioneer flagship software development events such as the Irish Microsoft Technology Conference and the Irish Java Technology Conference, and in 2008 we established the Irish x Technology Conference series to bring world class speakers to Ireland for multi-day technology events, which have been attended by hundreds of developers from across Ireland. IrishDev.com is proud to have had the opportunity to serve our members and to be highly valued by the Irish software industry. In 2009, we are continuing to build upon the Irish x Technology Conference Series, Business Breakfasts and Evangelist Evenings, and are also introducing tailored technology training so you can gain the skills that will be of the biggest benefit in your real life work.
