Summary: AWS IoT, Live Demos w/Raspberry Pi


Adrian is a Full Stack developer with a deep focus on cloud infrastructure and site reliability. Linux and AWS is where he spends most of his time, be it writing application software, deploying servers and/or managing large scale architectures.


During this evening's talk, Adrian will take in key features of the AWS IoT platform, latest developments and live demos / walk-throughs featuring Raspberry Pi.

Summary: AWS & Serverless Architecture - 'Serverless where possible - lessons learned'


EnerNOC is a world leader in Energy Intelligence, Demand Response and Energy Procurement Software.


Midway through 2016, EnerNOC began a program of work to build its Next-Generation Energy Intelligence Platform involving a key architectural objective - Serverless where possible.


During this talk, Brian will talk about what his team had to deliver, how they approached it, and share some lessons learned throughout the project.

In the latest in our series of Alexa Skills Development - Fundamentals, this week our resident Alexa master Alan Kiernan explores the practical differences in a "single question" versus an ongoing conversation (session state).


This is a practical walk-through with live demos outlining the fundamentals of building conversational Alexa apps.

Cloud security, modern threat detection and exposure management. Dan will show the impact of implementing web applications that lack the correct security controls.


Dean will also feature a live hack demo where he shows how web applications are attacked and what you should focus on to keep data and systems secure.


An exciting and very important demonstration for anyone who develops applications, manages websites or is interested in security, tailored towards the Amazon Cloud.


Dan's career spans several disciplines including Development, Operations and Architecture. Dan has managed teams of engineers in infrastructure, software and operations for several years, before joining Alert Logic designing and managing the programme to migrate large multi-brand web platforms from hybrid to pure cloud on AWS.
