The Software and Systems Quality Conference returns to Ireland for the 2nd year running and will be held in Croke Park. In 2008 the inaugural Irish event at the IMI had over 200 people attending and in 2009 we expect many more.

The software industry in Ireland is a prolific one and being able to achieve the highest quality is vitally important to Irish ICT companies on a world market. There are many challenges in our ever changing environment and our Industry must be ready to overcome them.

As IT projects become larger and of a more strategic nature to the core business of any organisation, the importance of quality throughout the lifecycle of the programme has increased. Yet recent research shows we continue to underplay this critical element and this becomes more and more evident in the number of projects that under deliver.

Software quality and testing is rapidly becoming acknowledged as an IT sector in its own right. The upcoming conference has been designed to provide a forum for specialists and practitioners and to build a community dedicated to quality.

Speaker include:

• Managing Agile Testing – David Espley
• Testing or Quality – What do we really want? – Craig Thomas
• Good behaviour in Test Driven Development – Tara Simpson
• Software lifecycle standards for small software organisations – Rory
• Testing in Turbulent Times – Paul Gerard
• Experience of Testing Service Oriented Architecture – Dave Rigler and
Paul O’Malley
• Expert Tools for Systems & Performance Testers – Trevor Parsons

The conference in 2009 will address many practical aspects of Software Quality and will provide delegates with an exposure to the current thinking in this important area. The conference theme is “Getting the right quality at the right price” and will cover new ideas to software quality as well as best practices in this important area. As the Chairman of the conference, I look forward to meeting you in Croke Park for the most important event in the software industry calendar.
