The Mashed Up Mobile Revolution

The ISDN Hosts....Mashable's Let's Talk Tech....at the TCube!

On the evening of Wednesday 22nd February, the Irish Software Developers' Network is opening TCube, a brand new venue for software professionals to learn and socialise. To mark the occasion, we are hosting Mashable's Let's Talk Tech.

In the beginning there was the iPhone and life was good (or at least it was once you got your head around xCode).  Then along came Android with it's multitude of smartphones & tablets to spice things up.  Now Microsoft have weighed in, getting great reviews with their latest Windows Phone. This has all the ingredients to become a classic battle royale as the big three compete for the consumer's eyeballs & designers/developers try to crank out cross platform solutions.  Is HTML5 the one size fits all answer? Or do you need to go native to take advantage of each platform's hardware & unique UI attributes.

It's enough to make you scream, “Help! I'm a developer, get me outta here!”.

Well, join us at Mashable's 'Let's Talk Tech' event on Wednesday 22nd February (and streamed live over the web) to hear JamPot Technologies' VP of Engineering, Michael Barr make sense of the Mobile Revolution & what you need to do to get the best results for you company, clients or just your own mobile project.  Michael's tech career to date has spanned 15 years and covered all the major aspects of software and web development, including lecturing on the subject. In recent years he has focussed on leading edge mobile app development for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone, exploring advanced features such as augmented reality, HTML5 and other cross platform technologies.

During the second part of the night Michael will share some of the techniques to
creating cross platform apps in a hands-on workshop so bring your laptop if you want to be creative (it's cool just to watch).  Everyone will get a special prize on the night, and a chance to win one of two Sony Ericsson Xperia ray handsets!

There will also be lots of opportunity to have lightening talks and adhoc discussions,

And that's not all.....courtesy of the world's leading anti-virus and threat protection company, ESET, and Ireland's newest recruitment agency for software professionals, A People Recruitment, there will be plenty of beers and some pizza to keep you nourished.
