VB.Net / Oracle Developer

Description

This 6 Month Fixed Term Contract role entails design, development and implementation of small to medium solutions and support of same.

Key technologies

• VB, VB.Net, SQL, Oracle, Crystal Reports and Brio.

 

 

Principal Responsibilities

• Liase with end-users and other stakeholders to refine business requirements
• Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications
• Code applications using VB, VB.NET and Oracle
• Adhere to coding conventions, established application design and development methods
• Give strong attention to detail
• Provide on going maintenance and product support of systems

 

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience with VB and good VB.Net skills.
• At least 4 years experience required in relational database development with very strong SQL skills using Oracle (preferable)
• Experience using reporting tools crystal or brio
• A good understanding of object oriented design
• Experience in working productively in a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in using source code control
• Ability to take ownership
• Strong analytical experience
