EMC Ireland Wins ‘HR Team of the Year' at Best Workplaces in Ireland Awards 2010
The Great Place to Work Institute Ireland has recognised EMC as one of the Top 20 Best Workplaces in Ireland, ranking the information infrastructure solutions leader 4th overall in its 2010 awards.
EMC Ireland Centre of Excellence (COE), the International Operations Campus for EMC Corporation was also honoured with the ‘HR team of the Year' Award at the Awards on Wednesday 24th February at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.
Each year, the Great Place to Work Institute in Ireland works with the Irish Independent to conduct the Best Workplaces in Ireland study with more than 4,000 eligible organisations within Ireland.
The confidential survey of organisations' employees measures the levels of Trust, Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie within the company. It also looks at various aspects of the organisations including Communication, Training & Development, Work-Life Balance, and Diversity. More than 100 organisations with a combined workforce of over 50,000 took part in the study, widely recognised as Ireland's largest annual labour force survey.
The special Award for ‘HR Team of the Year' recognises the progressive and innovative approach taken by the EMC Ireland (Centre of Excellence) COE HR team in areas such as organisational development, communications and change management. The award also recognises the strong strategic partnership between EMC HR and senior leadership.
Bob Savage, EMC's Vice President and Managing Director of Cork, Ireland Operations said, "We are very proud to be ranked 4th overall Best Large Workplace in Ireland. I would like to sincerely thank all of our employees for their ongoing commitment, investment in continued development and support of the business - this award is reflective of their ongoing loyalty and dedication to the success of EMC Ireland COE and the overall success of the Corporation."
"I am also delighted that EMC Ireland COE has been given special recognition for our HR team. This award recognises the success of our team in challenging times, and the key role of HR in managing change and positively engaging our people."
Kate O'Connor, Human Resources Director, EMC Ireland comments, "We feel it is important to give every staff member a sense of ownership on their future with EMC and for the success of EMC. In turn this benefits the organisation by ensuring motivated talent that helps transform and further develop the EMC organisation, products and business."
The Survey is widely recognised as Ireland's most comprehensive study of workplace culture, and offers superb national and international benchmarking, learning, and networking opportunities to all who take part.
