The four day event, the longest of its kind in Ireland, gets underway on June 8th in Trinity College Dublin. It has approximately 120 sessions covering "Best Practice and Tools, Client Server, Web, Cloud and Mobile development."

World leading software evangelists who present at global conferences like MIX, Devoxx, FOWA, EclipseCon, JavaOne, Le Web, Java Symposium and many of the Microsoft global events (to name but a few) are participating in epicenter, providing an opportunity for the Irish software community to see them on home soil negating the need to take lengthy and expensive journeys abroad.

IBM Ireland, one of the companies sponsoring and talking at epicenter, employ thousands of software professionals in their Ireland Lab which has offices across Dublin, Cork, Galway and with the recent acquisition of Intelliden, Belfast.  The Ireland Lab is one of more than 80 IBM research and development laboratories around the world, providing intelligent software that serve business purposes in many industries such as healthcare, energy, telecommunications, transportation, retail and public services.

Jeff Genender, a SOA expert, open source evangelist, Apache committer and longtime stalwart of epicenter, travels the world to present at major Java and open source events. Jeff said "I come to Ireland each year to take part in the epicenter events because I enjoy interacting with such enthusiastic developers and an exciting development community.  IrishDev.com puts on a great show with a great line up and its fantastic to be a part of it." Jeff, from Colorado, quips "Not to mention, the Guinness is better in no other location."

Jeff's joined by other regular epicenter speakers like Eugene Ciurana, Doug Clarke, Jon Skeet, Craig Murphy, Andy Gibson, Werner Keil, Kevin Noonan, Robert Hogg, Iain Angus, Jamie van Dyke, Robin Christopherson, Andrea Magnorsky and Billy Stack.

Whilst the current line-up is impressive to say the least, Sarah O'Farrell of IrishDev.com, the developer website which hosts epicenter, claims there is much more to come. She said, "Globally, Ireland is still recognised as one of the hotspots of server, web, cloud and mobile development. In part, our industry's stature is built on the foundation of our talented software engineers, and the Irish Software show, epicenter, is here to mobilise and celebrate our developer community. This year's epicenter once again surpasses all previous years and over the coming weeks, we will be confirming several more high profile evangelists."

As well as the conference, there is an expo where companies can showcase their products and services, and three very special evening events at the 5-Star Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin supporting the 2010 charity, the Baby Max Wings of Love.
