Health Care Informed Installs Key Systems For Iconic Melbourne Hospital
Galway start-up Health Care Informed recently finished implementing HCI's Quality Management Information System at Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital, in a contract worth €200k.
A number of key clinical departments of the RCH have implemented the HCI Quality Management Information System, which has resulted in better control of clinical care processes and greater control of the hospital's regulatory and audit management systems.
Established in 2005, HCI provides services, expertise and innovative solutions to healthcare providers in the areas of quality, regulatory and risk management.
The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne is one of the world's leading specialist pediatric hospitals, and it treats more then 250,000 patients annually.
John Sweeney, HCI CEO said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital. This now provides us with a base for the rollout of HCI's quality systems to similar organisations in Australia, with a potential imminent market value in excess of €2 million."
Making the announcement, the Minister for Trade and Commerce Mr Billy Kelleher T D said: "Health Care Informed is a relatively young company and securing this contract with such an iconic Australian institution as the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne is a substantial endorsement of the quality and competitiveness of their offering."
The deal ws announced during an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Australia, which took in Melbourne,Sydney and Canberra and included 44 Irish companies from the software, financial services, telecoms, e-learning, life sciences and environmental services sectors.
Irish enterprise exports to Australia are worth almost €200m per year, making Australia the largest market in the Asia Pacific Region and the ninth largest export market in the world for Irish exporting companies.Over 70 Irish companies have a physical presence there.
"The aim of the companies on this trade mission is to win business in Australia and to actively explore the potential for developing mutuallybeneficial alliances with Australian companies.Minister Kelleher said
"It is also an opportunity to look more closely at the scope for developing greatly expanded commercial and trade links between Ireland and Australia and focus in particular on what can be identified as areas of significant future potential", Minister Kelleher added.
