  Espion's Deansgrange Centre To Deliver 12 Smart Economy Jobs

 

 

 

Minister Eamon Ryan(Centre) with Colman Morrissey and Jim Lehane, from Espion.Minister Eamon Ryan opened a suite of new offices for information security specialist Espion in Deansgrange, Co Dublin, last Friday, where the Irish security firm will create 12 new jobs over the next 18 months, by focusing on three key areas - R&D, International expansion and new services  in areas like cloud computing.

 

 

Espion is focused on being a part of Ireland's renewal through building a Smart Economy. It is planning further investment in research, new services and more work in foreign markets.

 

It recently won contracts in Scotland and is now recruiting to service that business.

 

 

"Espion's work in  Information Security is just the kind of progress we need to make in terms of the Smart Economy. This smart economy is realisable, it is achievable, it will provide the jobs unlike any other area, and we are determined to go out and deliver those," said Minister Ryan.

 

"I am delighted to open this new premises with its emphasis firmly on the future. The Internet continues to play an increasingly positive role in our business and personal lives - which is why it's so important to be aware of the risks and to know what to do about these risks," the Minister continued.

 

 

Espion's  Research to date has included the Irish Honeynet Project where it tracked the level of hacking on Irish computers with a broadband connection from 2002-2008 and government initiatives like the Make IT Secure campaign.The next phase of Espion's growth will build on these experiences.

 

 

Espion managing director Colman Morrissey said: "The opening of this new facility marks a milestone in the development of Espion and those attending the event today are people who have been part of our achievements to date and who will be key to its success in the next phase of the company's growth".

Espion's International Expansion will  leverage internationally recognised industry accreditations and the positive associations linked with Irish ICT, as well as global demand for its services .

 

 

New Service Offering - Developments in Cloud Computing and security technologies have enabled Espion to develop a new uncomplicated, cost effective solutions that gives customers insight into the security and performance of their network in real time.
