Irish-owned data centre managed services company Servecentric has won a three-year managed hosting deal worth €140,000 with online subscription based weight loss service Tesco Diets, which it expects will cut its energy costs by 70%.
Servecentric is providing Tesco Diets with a managed hosting infrastructure, direct access to global networks and 24x7 technical support to ensure constant uptime. It is also providing a range of managed services including monitoring and security.
The deal is part of a broader IT development strategy aimed at facilitating Tesco Diets' continued growth.
Servecentric's solution has cut Tesco Diets hosting costs by 34%, and through its virtualised server environment expects to reduce power consumption by 70%.
The Tescodiets website receives over one million visits per week, and continues to introduce interactive applications to enhance its users experience. It offers rich media applications like webinars and video testimonials in real-time to ensure a personalised, community-driven approach to weight loss is delivered to members.
The Servecentric managed hosting solution has enhanced the quality and reliability of the Tesco Diets website by removing interruptions like time delays and other latency related issues.

Each member is assigned a Diet Mentor when they join, so that they know a friendly professional is there to help and listen to them.
