Novum Flexes For Significant Global Growth With Upgrade to Infor ERP System21 Aurora

Dublin-based refrigeration manufacturer Novum has upgraded to Infor's ERP System21 Aurora to help it manage substantial growth in its export business.
Infor Ireland is a leading provider of business software for mid-market companies, based in Dublin. It believes that Novum will get a return on its investment within 12 Months, although according to industry analyst firm AMR, implementing new ERP systems typically costs millions and it can be two or three years before implementations are complete.
"Many companies are struggling with older business systems that no longer meet their needs. Simply waiting until funding and resources are available for a new ERP system may damage morale and leave the company with inefficient business processes and inadequate information access," AMR states in a 2009 report entitled: Should You Rehabilitate Your Current ERP System Rather Than Buy a New One?
Novum is taking advantage of Infor's Flex program to upgrade from System21 Version 3 to Infor's ERP System21 Aurora - the latest service-oriented architecture (SOA) based version.
The Flex-enabled upgrade helps drive integration with all customer order fulfilment processes; improved order-to-cash cycle times, and allows better decision making across the organisation.
Flex enables qualifying customers with active maintenance contracts, like Novum, to upgrade to the latest version of the software via transparent, low cost implementations - mitigating the risk of an implementation that runs over on time or budget.
Novum CFO Robert Gibney said: "System21 Aurora is providing us with the practical software tools to manage our growth".
"Phase one of the System21 Aurora deployment is complete and already there are immediate benefits. We have begun a process of reducing the overall life cycle of our product process from order to sale. We hope within 12 months to have reduced this by 35 per cent. Already we are on track."
Infor Ireland business development director Morgan O'Flaherty explains: "Infor ERP System21 Aurora is allowing Novum to streamline and improve its sales and manufacturing processes to help it achieve significant growth. The team has better information available in a timely manner, greater business control, improved customer service levels and profit margins on its products: which are all key metrics for Novum."

Infor provides more than 70,000 customers with better, more collaborative relationship with their business software provider.
Novum specialises in supplying quality refrigeration equipment to the retail sector. An Irish owned company established in 1955, and now employing some 140 people in Dublin.
The company is a leading manufacturer in the refrigeration sector and continues to lead the market in innovation, styling and reducing energy consumption.
