Makers of Twaffic Navigator Claim Ireland's First Smart Phone Enabled Navigation Product with Real-Time Traffic Data
A revolutionary new app, Twaffic Navigator, is Ireland's first smart phone enabled navigation product featuring real-time traffic data. It provides the fastest route to destination every time, re-routing around traffic incidents with turn-by-turn navigation, helping Ireland's some 1 million plus smart phone users arrive to their destination stress free and on-time.
The feature-rich app, launched nationwide today by Irish company iTraffic, receives traffic flow updates all primary and secondary routes in the country, across all 26 counties, every 5 minutes and provides advanced warning of potential bottlenecks such as, accidents, road-works or even road closures throughout the journey.
Each user has a web subscription account to preplan their journey destination which is immediately synchronized from their web account to their phone. Text instructions or instructions in 2D or 3D route views on your phone display are given, or, to allow full concentration on the road, voice instructions on what to do and where to turn improves safety.
The company boasts that Twaffic Navigator has a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate, and will help making losing your way, a thing of the past. The "share your location" feature, for those who use Facebook and Twitter, provides location-based tweets and alerts with a precision map to display to friends and colleagues. The location-based services, "Near Me" enhance the user experience, giving the location of sites like the nearest petrol station, restaurants, public parks or golf course.
For business users who travel frequently, Twaffic Navigator will keep track of your journeys and tot up mileage making expense calculation easier.
Brendan Conway, Managing Director of iTraffic said: "We are committed to offering travellers comprehensive and accurate real-time traffic information that saves time and money. Whether walking or driving, you get live instructions on how to proceed to your destination.
With Twaffic Navigator you can also easily search and get exact positions for your destinations. You get positions for persons, addresses, businesses, petrol stations, clubs, cultural centres, and amenities such as parks. You also get four free updates of Irish maps each year so you are never out of date when new roads are finished.
The close partnership with Appello, the Swedish company that provides the infrastructure for the device, and the capabilities of their systems enables Twaffic Navigator to build a strong position in mobile navigation. Appello
is an excellent partner with capabilities to combine high quality with flexibility and innovation," Conway added.
Twaffic's combination of market orientation, customer focus and demand for best practice in our solutions has been a key component for our mutual success so far. It is a great pleasure to develop our cooperation further and support growth into new markets" says Martin Svensson, CEO of Appello.
Currently the number of compatible handsets that are capable of downloading the Twaffic Navigator app is 1m and rising. These include the iPhone, Blackberry and GPS enabled Smartphones such as Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, across all phone networks, Meteor, 3, O2 and Vodafone and can be purchased at the Apple, Blackberry and Android app stores.
