Golden Spiders 2010

Collins Collects Second 2010 Award Honouring Internet Achievements & Strata 3 Named as Best Web Irish Web Developers

GOLDEN_SPIDERS_Martin_Casey_Arekibo_and_Debs_Kennedy_Hostelworld.PNGThe 2010 Golden Spiders took place in Dublin last week and saw Dublin based Strata 3 walk away with 'Best Web Development Company' for a succession of high profile websites it has designed and developed over the last year such as the Convention Centre Dublin, Dublin SPCA, It's Your Money and the ICC Birmingham.

Hosted this year by comedian Jimmy Carr, the award ceremony is an annual event honouring Irish organisations for their  achievements online and celebrating the successes of the Irish internet and digital media. The twenty categories were evaluated on a range of judging criteria including content, structure & navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity as well as overall user experience.

In addition to Strata 3's success, it was also a good night for the budget online reservations site, Hostelworld.com, who fared well winning two awards, ‘Best eBusiness Website' and ‘Best Mobile Application' for its iPhone app, and also Fota Wildlife Park who also won two awards, 'Best Travel and Tourism Website' and, overall, 'Grand Prix'.

Lightbox client Whoseview.ie won a Golden Spider for the second successive year in the 'Best Listings' category. Lightbox clients were shortlisted in five other categories including Best Web Design and Development agency and Best Travel & Tourism Website.

Dylan Collins who founded DemonWare and Jolt Games, picked up the 'Internet Hero' award to add to his IIA Netvisionary which he was awarded back in May 2010.
