Dublin Company Select Oracle Berkeley DB to Increase Revenue on its Mobile Network Protection Platform
Dublin based AdaptiveMobile, a Gold-level partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, has agreed a deal with Oracle to embed Oracle Berkeley DB within its Network Protection Platform, which is designed to help mobile operators and service providers better protect their subscribers from viruses, spam, malware, fraud and inappropriate content.
AdaptiveMobile said it selected Oracle Berkeley DB for its outstanding data retrieval speeds, reliability, scalability and availability, along with its integration with the company's existing application environment. The three year deal with Oracle will enable AdaptiveMobile to increase revenues for its Network Protection Platform, by enhancing the performance, scalability and resilience of its policy management platform.
The Platform is used by more than 600 million subscribers worldwide, and supports mobile operators in three key areas:
- Network Insight: Real-time network threat visualisation, analysis, management and reporting: Network Protection: The most comprehensive, proven security solutions enabling a trusted mobile experience
- Personalised Protection: revenue-generating personalised protection services for the consumer and enterprise
- The company claims this combined approach ensures the growth of the average revenue per user for mobile and convergent operators, assisting to reduce churn through increased customer satisfaction and building subscriber trust.
Gareth Maclachlan, Chief Operating Officer, AdaptiveMobile, explained that the same robust data storage features as traditional, relational database systems means the Oracle Berkeley DB will serve as the central platform on which policy information is exchanged within AdaptiveMobile's Network Protection Platform. He said: "Oracle's Berkeley DB has enabled us to develop a solution that resolves the content and access control challenges of both network operators and their customers without impacting the user experience.
Working with Oracle has allowed us to reduce our development time and cut our total cost of ownership for network operators by helping us reduce our hardware and administration costs."
Paul O'Riordan, country leader, Oracle Ireland, said: "AdaptiveMobile is an outstanding example of a firm creating cutting-edge solutions for a global audience. By tackling mobile security issues head on, it has cultivated a large customer base of 600million users and is considered leading experts in this field. We look forward to working closely with AdaptiveMobile over the coming years to help further the company's success by combining both of our strengths into single application agreement."
