Ease2016 Takes Place in Limerick

Over 90 Delegates from over 20 countries will visit University of Limerick for International Software Conference

 

160527_IrishDev_Sarah_Beecham_Lero.jpgNext week sees Lero and the University of Limerick (UL) hosting the prestigious International Conference on Evaluation and Assessment in Software Engineering (EASE2016).

 

 

In competition from other international cities, this is the first time the top tier international conference has taken place in Ireland. Nanjing, China was the host last year.

 

 

In a boost to the local economy, 90 delegates from 22 countries, including Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Scandinavia and the US are expected to attend the conference which is sponsored by Lero, the University of Limerick, Fáilte Ireland and Crest.

 

 

Keynote speakers at EASE 2016 are Robert McCarthy, program director - Innovation, Business Development & Operations Ireland Software Labs at IBM and Prof. Brian Fitzgerald, chief scientist at Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre. They will be joined by 45 contributions from all over the world throughout the three-day event.

 

 

Dr Sarah Beecham, senior research fellow at Lero, who is chairing the conference, said; "It's a major coup for Limerick to attract this milestone 20th conference. EASE has become the world's premier event in empirical and evidence-based software engineering."

 

 

The conference takes place from 1st - 3rd June 2016
