Dublin based hardware company, Ethos Technology  have reported a successful year supplying their own brand purpose built and pre-installed operating system Servers to Irish companies .

 

 

Ethos Technology have been working with partners such as CISCO, Intel, LANCOM Systems, Promise Technology and TRENDnet which allows them to provide a vast range of specialist products to their resellers. They  have been building their own  “Evolve” brand of PCs, Servers and Workstations in their Greenogue factory for over eight years and in recent times there has been a steady demand from IT resellers for purpose built Servers which can be configured to their needs.

 

 

Evolve Servers are built using genuine Intel building blocks like  Intel Server CPU, Server motherboards and Server Chassis which the company claims guarantees quality and interoperability, and that all the Evolve Server configurations have been tested and validated by Intel.

 

 

Evolve servers are configured to exact customer specification, unlike other server vendors to which the customer must shoehorn their requirements into a specification that is cast in stone. With short lead times and OS Pre-installation, Evolve Servers allow server resellers to save man hours on server roll out.  This ultimately makes them more cost effective than mainstream tier 1 brands

 

Gavin Tobin, Managing Director of Ethos Technology said  “IT resellers are looking for better value for money without compromising quality. This timing saving feature was endorsed by Paul Kelly  who is the Technical Director at Blacknight Internet Solutions, a company providing web hosting and co-location services. Throughout this year, Blacknight has bought over a hundred Evolve Servers on which single employee to large multinational companies are hosting their websites.

 

He said "Ethos pre-install service has saved us many man hours in engineering time. They received the specification for the OS install for each Evolve Server which they pre-installed for us. All we have to do is rack the server, power it up and walk away. By getting the servers delivered to us in ‘ready to go’ condition, we can spend more time with our customers."
