LG Electronics has appointed Kieran Keddy as mobile sales manager in Ireland. He is tasked with leading the Irish mobile business and driving awareness and adoption of LG’s mobile product portfolio.
The appointment ensures the continued commitment to the Irish market of LG, who employ 82,000 people worldwide, and bolsters the company’s local presence since its was established in Dublin in March 2008.
Reporting to John Barton, UK and Ireland Sales and Marketing Director, LG Mobile, Keddy is responsible for developing mobile sales in Ireland whilst supporting its current customer base. With the recent launch of the LG Renoir, Ireland’s first full touchscreen 8 mega-pixel camera phone and drawing on LG’s cutting-edge technology and innovative handset design capabilities, Keddy will focus on providing a higher quality mobile experience to the company’s Irish customers.
Commenting on his appointment Keddy said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead LG’s Irish mobile sales division. In an increasingly competitive local market, it is important to offer customers products that satisfy a variety of needs."
He continued, "LG has created handsets that specifically meet the demands of different consumers, providing them with the mobile experience they desire. As customer expectations continue to increase, we need to ensure customer satisfaction is firmly at the centre of everything we do”.
Supporting the announcement Barton said: “LG is committed to the long term development and growth of its business in Ireland. Kieran’s appointment is a direct response to what our customers have been asking for. By focusing on our hero product range and through building on the introduction of LG Mobile in early 2008 we plan to ramp up activity in 2009”.
Keddy brings to LG a raft of industry expertise having previously worked as head of sales for terminals at Huawei Technologies. Prior to Huawei Technologies, he was the National Account Manager for Sagem Communications in Ireland and indirect sales manager at Meteor mobile communications for 5 years. He holds a BA degree and High Diploma in Education from University College Dublin.
