Cable & Wireless Begins Expansion of Its Next-Generation Multi-Service Platform in Ireland and Continental Europe
Cable & Wireless Worldwide has announced that it is commencing the rollout of its next-generation network, known as the Multi-Service Platform (MSP), across 21 locations in Ireland and Continental Europe.
Already proven in the UK, India and the Middle East, the extension of the MSP to Ireland and Continental Europe will form part of the company's vast network across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America, and is scheduled to be complete by the end of September 2009.
In addition to providing their customers with an increased global reach, the company claims its MSP improves network reliability, availability and performance, and at the same time enables them to provide enhanced support as well as predictable and seamless service delivery that their customers want.
According to David Molony, principle analyst at Ovum, Cable & Wireless' MSP is one of the most advanced global telecommunications networks in the world. He said "The extension of the MSP to Europe will enable it to provide greater support to its international customers through a range of innovative next-generation services."
Cable & Wireless has been a trusted technology partner of Europe's largest low-fare airline, Ryanair, for more than a decade. The network will enable business' to drive efficiencies by providing access to high-quality Managed IP services including IP Virtual Private Networks with built-in Quality of Service (IP VPN QoS), and Carrier MPLS. The network will also enable access to advanced Ethernet services (including Ethernet VPN) as well as value-added communications applications such as high-definition video conferencing, IP telephony, Application Performance Management solutions, IPCCTV and Digital Signage.
With the MSP, Cable & Wireless has been able to evolve its solutions portfolio which will benefit multi-national customers with a footprint in Europe. Customers can now achieve consolidation and cost savings across multiple geographies, while the roll out of new applications can be centrally managed and monitored, providing companies with a single, flexible and cost effective solution.
The company are now able to offer propositions such as
- Application Performance Management Solutions enable customers to gain visibility and control of their network usage allowing them to optimise, accelerate and manage the network. This 'application-aware' networking capability delivers the highest performance levels for customers' business critical applications.
