Irish ERP Company Reaps Rewards After Opening New UK Customer Centre - Now Planning UK Acquisition
Following the launch of a UK sales and customer service operation in Solihull earlier this year, Irish enterprise software implementation company, Aspera Solutions, has announced seven, multi-year enterprise resource planning (ERP) contracts worth more than €2M, secured in the UK and Ireland over its last quarter.
The new UK customers include food processors Wyke Farms and Troy Foods, and manufacturers HTA Precision and Permastore. Growth in the Irish market has also shown significant positivity in this quarter, with new clients including One51 plc, Smithstown Light Engineering and AgriHealth.
Aspera supplies integrated business applications designed to increase business efficiency and productivity. Its niche focus is ERP applications in manufacturing, food processing and distribution companies. It also provides integrated customer relationship management and business intelligence systems. Strategic global vendor partners include Epicor and CDC Software, whose solutions are aligned to these sectors.
Commenting on the results, Aspera managing director, Lonan Byrne, (pictured above with Philip Larragy, sales & marketing manager) explained that although there was a definite dip in purchase decisions during 2008, their last quarter results clearly shows ERP budgets are being unshackled and that good companies are continuing to make strategic investments in their businesses.
He said, "We are very pleased with these strong results, which show improvements in every aspect of our business performance. We are particularly pleased to see that our recent launch in the UK market has already delivered major new business wins, and that our business in Ireland has gained such momentum in the last quarter. Our performance also reflects our commitment to vertically focused solutions that guard our customers' investments and best fit their business strategies."
"The recent wins show that the market respects our deep experience delivering solutions for food processing and manufacturing businesses, and that Aspera is increasing market share as a result. We believe we're ideally positioned to develop strongly, based on the growing demand for our technology and experience."
Byrne added, "We plan to consolidate our investment in the UK and Ireland over the coming twelve months, with a significant UK acquisition in the pipeline."
Technical innovation is helping to grow market penetration in the new mid-market ERP segment, where solutions such as Epicor and Ross ERP are coming into their own in the recession. Mid-sized companies, and food producers in particular, are seeking the productivity, efficiency and traceability advantages of ERP, which are now available at a much lower total cost of ownership. Other new ERP applications driving the market include Web 2.0 for the enterprise, and mobile integration to devices, including iPhones and Blackberries.
Alan Walsh, chief financial officer, One 51 plc, commented on their ERP solution. "Our requirement was to improve business integration within our Environmental Services Division. We selected Epicor 9 ERP from Aspera Solutions for its rich functionality, web-service architecture and strong service support, which enable us to meet our objectives. The first sites went live within 4 months, on time and budget, giving us the confidence to further roll-out the system within the division."
Aspera is in the process of recruiting 10 new full-time employees to support this increased level of business and international growth.
