Realex Payments Founder & CEO Honoured with Golden Spiders Internet Hero Award
Irish Internet Entrepreneur Colm Lyon has been honoured with the Golden Spiders Internet Hero Award in Dublin yesterday.
Lyon founded Realex Payments in 2000 and the company has gone on to become a true Irish success story. Just recently Realex Payments announced revenue growth of 12% and pre-tax profits of €721k. The company employs 70 staff and has over 3500 clients.
Lyon is completely immersed in the Irish Internet industry and has a passion about growing and scaling Irish internet businesses. Aside from his founding role of one of Ireland's leading internet service companies, he has personally driven the Internet Growth Alliance, supported by Enterprise Ireland, and his personal drive and leadership to help other Irish businesses scale and grow internationally has made him a true and compelling contributor to the Irish internet industry.
Being honoured with this award is testament to his hard work and commitment to the Irish internet industry. In response to the announcement Lyon commented, "I am truly delighted to have been given this award. It means so much to be recognised by your own industry and it's a very proud moment for me and the team at Realex Payments. I would like to thank our thousands of clients who have supported us over the years, the banks with whom we work and the developer community."
Lyon added, "In particular I would like to acknowledge the wonderful and enthusiastic staff in Realex. We have an incredible team that shares the vision and the passion to create an international internet payment processing business. We look forward to tackling the challenges that this opportunity presents."
