Aspera Buys AlphaGen's ERP base

Irish ERP implementor Aspera Solutions has bought UK-based Alpha Gen's customer base for €1.4M


ASPERA SalesDirector  Managing Director Lorcan Byrne are poised to lead in the mid-sized UK ERP market after gaining 35 new customers from AlphaGen ina €1.4Mdeal Aspera Solutions, a leading Irish enterprise software implementation company, has announced plans to invest €1.4 million over three years in a bid to become the UK's  leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) service provider in the mid-tier manufacturing and distribution market segment.

 

 

The first phase of this investment programme has just concluded with Aspera's acquisition of AlphaGen's manufacturing sector customer base of 35 ERP customers which generates a €500,000 annual revenue stream. AlphaGen provides ERP software and services to the UK industrial sector. Its decision to sell its manufacturing customer base was motivated by a desire to focus on other segments of the market.

 

 

Aspera Solutions managing director Lonan Byrne (Pictured, Right) commented: "As a recent market entrant, we are very excited by this opportunity to gain a strong foothold in the UK market while continuing our organic growth. This acquisition allows us to transfer our manufacturing industry expertise to add value for a whole new base of customers, and to reap a marketing advantage by quickly establishing our reputation in the UK. It is particularly timely, with the recent positive UK manufacturing indices pointing towards growth in output in the sector.

 

"We are delighted that AIB has decided to partner with us on this venture. This investment allows us to step-up our international customer service capability and guarantee that our UK customers will be able to benefit from exactly the same levels of local support as our Irish customers, " said Byrne.

 

 

Aspera's  new customers include Broadcrown, Gresham Office, Parker Plant, New Chapel Electronics and  31others in the engineering, electronics, plastics and medical devices sectors.  Altogether they will generate €500,000 annual revenue for Aspera, which aims to grow its annual UK turnover to €1 million in 2010.

 

 

Aspera's investment includes six new employees, two of whom have transferred from AlphaGen. It will also make significant investments in sales, digital marketing, facilities, services and training.

 

 

Aspera is a full service ERP company offering consulting, sales, integration and support services.Aspera helps customers to reduce cost and increase productivity in the areas of finance, people management, order management, manufacturing, distribution, operations and enterprise asset management.

 

 

Established in Ireland in 1987, it launched its UK sales and customer service division in Solihull, Birmingham this year with a long-term view to developing  its UK market presence. Its leadership strategy is based on  building deep specialist industry experience and providing a very high level of customer service.

 

 

Broadcrown, a UK manufacturer of diesel generators  is one of its newly acquired customers.Niall Pugh, Broadcrown finance director said:"We look forward to working with Aspera, a company with a long-standing reputation for delivery and support in the manufacturing space. Fresh perspectives are always welcome, and we look forward to enhancing our business performance with them."

 

 

Aspera is a wholly Irish owned enterprise software implementation company which supplies integrated business applications designed to increase user efficiency and productivity. Its niche focus is mid-sized ERP applications in manufacturing, food processing and distribution companies. It also provides integrated customer relationship management and business intelligence systems. Strategic global vendor partners include Epicor and CDC Software, whose solutions are aligned to these sectors. Aspera is headquartered in Ireland and has UK sales and service operations.The investment is being financed by AIB loan finance and retained earnings.
