Ross ERP Software To Streamline Growing Food Business and Improve Customer Service

L-R are Tristan Geoghegan, finance manager, La Rousse Foods and Lonan Byrne, managing director, Aspera Solutions. Irish enterprise software services company Aspera Solutions has won a  €225,000 contract to supply an enterprise resource planning  system to La Rousse Foods which is expected to pay for itself within three years.

The new ERP solution  is  expected to  transform all of  La Rousse Foods business processes as well as  improving  operations management, productivity and customer service. The system is currently being rolled out and implementation is due to finish in May.

La Rousse Foods is a speciality food sales and distribution business that was established in 1991 by husband and wife team Mary Massy and Marc Amand. The two former chefs have expanded the company to cover all 32 counties of Ireland.

Aspera Solutions managing director  Lonan Byrne  (pictured on the right) said: “La Rousse Foods is a very strong brand in the food sector.  It is synonymous with quality food products for exacting needs of the hospitality sector.  They put quality and service above everything.

"We expect that they will gain a clear competitive edge by being able to run a much more responsive service in a lean and efficient manner.  This system should completely pay for itself in less than three years.”

La Rousse Foods now has three Irish sales, administration and distribution centres, plus a French centre.  It employs more than 80 people  and supplies more than 2,500 products to restaurants, delicatessens and  retailers.

Growth of its product range and customer base has created a very complex operations environment which had become  labour intensive due to the sheer volume of transactions.  The primary goal  of the new system is to simplify and streamline the business so that La Rousse can deliver high quality fresh goods and best customer service.

Tristan Geoghegan, finance manager at La Rousse Foods (pictured on the left) said: “Aspera’s deep experience of the food sector in Ireland and the UK reassured us that they inherently understood our business. They grasped the real potential of Ross ERP for our business and convinced us of their ability to maximise the return on this investment.  Ross ERP is the benchmark for the food sector and was the outstanding platform choice.

This will make positive impact on our stock and order management and ensure that we reduce stock wastage to as close to zero as possible.  We also expect to achieve a four to five percent improvement in our key customer service index.”

The new solution Ross ERP software will cover four sites, home offices and mobile sales staff.  It can track every barcode scanned product  from producer to customer and back and will  ensure that stock quality is optimised.  This will enable La Rousse Foods to better manage risk, regulatory and financial reporting.

Ross ERP will impact on every aspect of operations, including core activities such as cheese ripening, butchery, wines, warehousing and transport as well customer service, sales, finance, purchasing, stock management, traceability and quality management.

Ross  ERP also  includes CRM facilities which  will give sales people very detailed integrated customer records and reports so that they can better respond to needs.

The Ross ERP software will also provide management with key business intelligence information as La Rousse Foods continues to grow.
