DoneDeal.ie Signs With IAB Ireland

Classified Adverts Mart Signs Up with Newly Established Interactive Advertising Bureau Ireland

DoneDeal.ie, one of  Ireland's first online classified ad marts, has joined  the newly formed Interactive Advertising Bureau of Ireland,  a recently formed industry body which exists to promote digital advertising in Ireland. 

IAB Ireland CEOSuzanne Mc Elligott said: "DoneDeal.ie is now our tenth Full Member, reflecting the extremely positive response from the digital advertising industry to IAB Ireland's establishment. I know that DoneDeal.ie will make a very valuable contribution to our organisation and its important role in the development and promotion of digital advertising."

IAB Ireland was founded by nine visionary partners:Crimtan, Daft Media, Eircom, Google, Microsoft Advertising, RTE, The Irish Times, Trader Media Group and Yahoo!, so  DoneDeal's joining means IAB Ireland is now moving  out of the founding stage towards wider  industry acceptance.

DoneDeal.ie co-founder Geraldine Karlsson said: "We are delighted to become members of IAB Ireland. As digital is the fastest growing medium in the current media space, we feel it is very important for large online companies such as DoneDeal.ie to take steps towards co-ordinating standards and guidelines for the digital advertising industry.

"We look forward to being part of IAB Ireland as they work towards educating and informing the Irish market about the powerful medium of digital advertising."

Founded in 2005 by Fred and Geraldine Karlsson, (pictured) DoneDeal.ie has grown steadily and today claims approx. 3.6 million visits per month, according to Ireland Metrix, an independent website metrics company.On average, 30,000 new items are advertised each month, with products ranging from art and antiques  to video games and vehicles. The site currently has approximately 56,000 adverts active

DoneDeal.ie promotes itself as an easy  and safe marketplace for people to buy or sell all sorts of things.  Its features include photos with all ads, low cost advertising  and hassle free payment by phone and free tracking tools.

IAB Ireland is a member of IAB Europe which is the representative association of the European digital and interactive marketing industry, and  represents 18 national IAB's.
