Abacus Systems Helps Child Mental Health Staff To Improve Dictation Using Workflow Across A WAN
The Lucena Clinic, the child and adolescent mental health service which is run for the HSE in Dublin by Saint John of God Community Services, has implemented a WAN-based WinScribe Digital Dictation system from Abacus Systems which has enabled the clinic to introduce a workflow management system that helps it cover staff absences.
Abacus Systems won the tender to replace analogue dictation machines on a pilot basis in December 2009 and the new digital system was rolled out to clinics across six locations within the organisation, taking advantage of WAN links in January.
Now that around 50 authors and 12 typists are using the new digital dictation system, Lucena Clinic has introduced a workflow management system and staff are experienceing much better sound quality along with other benefits.
"We have had excellent feed back from our users, who are delighted with the improved audio quality and the transparency of the solution," explains Paul Martin, the administrative manager who is responsible for the clinic's Finance and HR .
"We can now manage our dictation requirements in a way that was not possible before, switching work from one location to another to allow us to cover absences. Our users are very happy with the solution which has exceeded our expectations."
"We have been very happy with the support of Abacus Systems. In particular we were impressed with the speed and efficiency that they responded to our needs," adds Martin.
