Kainos Shortlisted For The Irish Technology Leadership Group Innovation Awards
Belfast and Dublin-based IT consulting company Kainos has been shortlisted for an Irish Technology Leadership Group/ Irish Times Innovation Award. The winning companies will be announced at the ITLG awards ceremony at Stanford University on Monday which will be attended by California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Kainos Director Brian Gannon said: " It's a wonderful achievement to be shortlisted for the ITLG innovation award."
"We delivered over 150 projects last year and we are forecasting a similar number this year. These projects deliver measurable value and business efficiencies and that coupled with a great workforce that engages closely with our customers is what keeps us successful. Awards such as the ITLG innovation award are a great endorsement of our approach," Gannon continued.
Kainos is no stranger to awards. It won the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award for the second year running last week, at a gala awards event on Friday at Dublin's Burlington Hotel which was attended by the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen.
Kainos was one of 22 top Irish companies honoured in Deloitte's 2010 awards programme, which is run in association with Bank of Scotland (Ireland). It was developed to recognise indigenous Irish companies operating at the highest levels of business performance and identifies the best managed companies through an evaluation process that goes far beyond financial results.
Kainos CEO Brendan Mooney (pictured) said: "This is a tremendous achievement given the market challenges that many IT companies are facing at the moment and we are delighted with the accolade," after receiving the award.
"We focus on solutions that deliver measurable business efficiency improvements and this has stood us in good stead and underpinned our continued growth. We have continued to increase our market share in key public sectors and we are currently extending our focus into the healthcare market with a range of services and solutions that we believe will further underpin success in 2010 and beyond."
Kainos continues to extend its clear footprint in the IT services market as a specialist in electronic document and records management projects and implementations. The company's reputation for customer service and excellent project delivery continues to earn repeat business from its client base as well as from a broad range of new clients across the public and private sectors.
However it is competing against four other companies for the ITLG Innovation Award, which will be judged by Silicon Valley's finest tech veterans.
The ITLG is a group made up of senior Silicon Valley technology executives who aim to help Irish start-ups do business in the US. It is chaired by former Intel chief executive Craig Barrett.
The ITLG shortlist was drawn up from companies who presented to potential investors at workshops in Belfast last October.
Kainos' customers include some of the biggest names in both private and public sector throughout the UK and Ireland, including AIB, the Audit Commission, Bank of Ireland, Hibernian, Northern Ireland Civil Service, the Information Commissioners Office and Permanent TSB.
Kainos designs and implements IT solutions that make businesses perform better. It employs over 260 consultants and prides itself on staff being client focused, reliable, dedicated and understanding how technology can be used to best advantage.
The company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Belfast with offices in Dublin, London and Gdansk.
