Our client a rapidly expanding and successful software company in the mobile arena are looking for a customer facing engineer who is willing to learn and grow into the role. They must be technically adept as per the skills outlined below but must also have excellent communication skills and be able to think on their feet. Ideal candidate should have a good attitude and willingness to travel is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, set-up and configuration of Customers System in the test network
- Integration of system in test network
- Running ATP in Test System and achieving sign-off
- Installation, set-up and configuration of filtering system in live network
- Integration of system in to live system
- Running of Acceptance Testing in Live Network and achieving sign-off
- Providing expert and in depth 2nd & 3rd line technical support to resolve issues in Customer networks
- Ensuring all CSRs are tracked, addressed, directed to the appropriate area and followed through to closure.
- Maintenance and updating of support documentation.
- Availability to travel up to 80% of the time (including weekends) if required to meet customer demands.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of Mobile Telecoms networks covering GSM, GPRS and UMTS
- Experience in system implementation/integration within Mobile Networks
- Unix/Linux system administration
- Experience in System Application Testing
- TCP/IP, routing, switching
- Understanding of Mobile Data Application layer (MMS, SMS, Voice, Web/WAP etc.)
- Ideally have a Telecoms Engineering Degree, having worked in a Mobile Telecoms Environment Support & Implementation role or similar.
- Strong understanding of Mobile Data Telecoms systems, (GPRS, UMTS, MMS, IP etc) would be a pre-requisite
- Ability to function as 1st and/or 2nd Line Support
- Ability to react quickly to problems, working with a team to resolve within agreed SLA or project deadlines.

- Windows Scripting
