Our Dublin based client is seeking to recruit a highly experienced Project Manager to manage multiple teams, working on multiple projects through the full software development lifecycle to deliver their innovative technology products.

Projects to be managed will range from low-level Java Virtual Machine development, embedded software development, to web based GUI to manage their solution.

 

 

The critical competence required for this role is that the applicant must be an established project manager with a proven track record in monitoring and controlling all aspects of delivery from initiation to closure, including small development bug fixes to large scale system optimisations and improvements. Not only must the applicant be expert in project planning, scheduling and budget control, this is a collaborative role where the Project Manager will be required to interface and engage with product management, field technical support and functional groups including QA, and engineering operations, from project inception to closure.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure project objectives are met within the constraints of project scope, time, cost and required quality.
• Work closely with Product Development and functional teams to define project scope and all required deliverables, activities, activity sequence, Work Break-down Structure (WBS) and work estimates to create a framework for the project schedule.
• End to end project planning including Schedule Development, Resource Planning, Budgeting utilizing all internal project management tools.
• Coordinating and communication with project resources, internal team, stakeholders and vendors on all aspects of project progression/status
• Measuring progress and monitoring performance (overall, scope, schedule, costs, quality)
• Risk Management including issue escalation and resolution

Essential Skills:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business
• 5 years + experience in a similar project management role, preferably in a fast paced service delivery environment
• Project Management Certification (PMBOK, Prince 2 or equivalent)
• Proficiency in the use of Project Management Tools or approaches including Scrum or other agile development methodologies
• Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently in a highly technical environment
• Extensive hands-on experience in producing detailed project schedules, extrapolating work break down structure, and resource requirements and tracking to schedule
• Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both verbal and written English with good technical documentation/writing skills
• Extensive experience in project reporting including executive level briefing

 

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with Technical Product Management Teams, experience and exposure to the following technologies, C++ and J2EE in Client server based environments
• Software Development background would be advantageous
• Analytical Skills with ability to truly understand the full scope and impact of the project requirements
• Customer service orientation with ability to manage relationships with internal customers
• Ability to drive consensus among various internal stakeholders, including executive management and third parties
