Students Challenged to Demonstrate Technology Innovation for Businesses as Deloitte Searches for Ireland's Top Tech Talent
In its Top Technology Talent Competition, Deloitte, the business and technology advisory firm, is seeking innovative ideas from university students at all levels across Ireland on how technology can solve a business problem. The top submissions will be invited to present their business plan to a judging panel of technology industry experts.
The student chosen as the 2011 Top Technology Talent will be able to choose either a €1000 prize or four weeks' paid work experience in Deloitte's technology integration practice, to further develop their idea if they so choose, or to gain valuable technology and business experience within one of the world's largest professional services organisations.
Harry Goddard (pictured right with colleague Antonio Senatore), Partner, Technology Integration, Deloitte, said: "Deloitte's Top Technology Talent competition is about finding the finest minds amongst the next generation of technology talent. It's one thing having an understanding of how technology works but quite another understanding how to successfully use it to enhance a business. The competition reflects the kind of challenges that Deloitte's clients present our technology consulting business with every day."
Goddard continued, "The competition is a great way to engage with talented students and we are excited about seeing what ideas we will receive. Students at Ireland's third level institutions are producing great ideas that are commercially viable, and we hope that this competition will help in making these great ideas a reality. By promoting these ideas, we can showcase the potential that Ireland Inc can capitalise on."
The shortlisted entries will be invited to Deloitte's offices in April 2011 to to discuss their idea and presentation with members of Deloitte's Technology Integration team, and then present their idea, ‘Dragons Den style', to panel of industry experts who are being assembled from Deloitte's Fast 50 clients to determine the overall winner.
The closing date for entries is 21st March 2011.
