COVID-19 Pandemic Ignites a Rapid Expansion for Irish Based Digital Food Ordering Company

Flipdish, the Irish digital food-ordering solution, has announced it is to create a further 200 jobs over the next 12 months, building upon the 100 new roles so far in 2020 as part of the rapid expansion it has experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Headquartered in Dublin and operating in 15 countries including the UK, US, France and Germany, Flipdish is a digital ordering and marketing system for restaurants, cafés and takeaways. With a branded website, app or self-service kiosk powered by Flipdish’s technology, owners can directly accept digital orders without the need to list on aggregator platforms, at a lower cost and with more control over the customer experience.

In Ireland Flipdish provides its technology to well known brands like Eddie Rockets, Press Up Group, Base Pizza and Bombay Pantry.
The new jobs, 50 of which the Company is hiring now, are mainly technology roles such as software engineers, engineering managers, software architects, data scientists, mobile engineers, and product designers aswell as customer success, customer support, marketing, and sales.
Brian Kelly, VP of Engineering at Flipdish said; “The tech roles we’re hiring for are important and make a real difference in day to day operations not only for us at Flipdish, but also for the restaurants that we work with. Our employees will be are directly responsible for building products and bringing them to market."
He adds that Flipdish employees will have significant opportunities to either launch or enhance their careers across a very fast-growing sector. "Every engineer hired will join a team that will be on at least one product line, and will see their work released on a constant basis, making a real difference for restaurants who otherwise struggle with this problem.”
Co-Founder and CEO of Flipdish Conor McCarthy (pictured above) said; “Expansion was always on the cards for Flipdish in 2020, but we could never have imagined pre-Covid how rapidly we would need to grow to play a crucial role in alleviating the crisis the hospitality industry faced.
During the pandemic Flipdish has enabled thousands of food businesses in Ireland and across the globe to pivot from dine-in to delivery and takeaway, sometimes in under 48 hours, and we were proud to partner with them and help them stay open and operating.”
McCarthy added; “Hiring 200 roles next year looks different than it has in the past for us. We are reimagining what the workspace looks like for Flipdish in 2021. We know that the in-person office job is over but our focus is now on finding the best talent regardless.”
Carol Gibbons, Manager of ICT and International Services at Enterprise Ireland said; "I am delighted to see the ongoing expansion of Flipdish, a high-tech company with a strong culture that Enterprise Ireland has been proud to support over its development stages, including a significant Research & Development grant this year. The new high-value jobs which will be created in 2021 demonstrate that Irish innovation and enterprise continues to thrive internationally, even in very challenging market circumstances. Enterprise Ireland looks forward to continuing our support of the Flipdish team as it embarks on a very exciting growth stage of development.”
