Author, the Irish technology website, has announced that it is to launch a brand new section called Feature Friday on April 3rd.

IRISHDEV-Barry-Alistair-Facebook.jpg has been reporting news, listing events and advertising technology jobs since 2003. Re-development of the website began in June of 2008, and re-launched in October with a new energetic look and feel. Over the last six months it has steadily grown and now has over 5000 unique visitors each month visiting it.

The types of articles that will cover in the new Feature Friday section are industry figure interviews, company profiles, technology masterpieces, conference reports, industry analysis plus much more.

Barry Alistair (pictured) explains why the website is extending its offerings.

He said, "Up until now, has very successfully served as a news reporting website. Since relaunch, we have carefully defined our editorial objectives, resulting in a consistent growth. The articles we publish are all tech related, and  focus on the Irish industry."

He continued  "Aside from our editorial objectives, we have initiated value by offering 'enterprise customers a cost conscious form of engaging our visitors. Equating to just €10.00 per week, technology businesses can advertise on the website, and, in our jobs and events sections, get upto 15 listings included too.

"Whether companies are selling services or product, looking for bums on seats for their training courses or conferences, or even new recruits, this represents an unbeatble offer."

"As a progressive company we now want to expand our news reporting service by offering our readers 'original content' that is available only on," he added.

Asked if the articles will be vendor neutral and unbiased, Barry Alistair says "Like our news reporting service, the content will be produced and published at the discretion of our editors. We are open to receiving contributions drafted by enterprise customers if they wish to engage our readership, but the same editorial direction will apply."

"That is, we will only edit and publish the article if we consider it to be of value to our readers."
